Orpington Ojays Open is taking place the evening of Saturday 27th and all day Sunday 28th September. There will be no swimming Sunday morning or evening as coaches and swimmers will be supporting the Open.

If you have not signed up to help please do so. Thank you
It is with great sadness that the committee advises swimmers and parents that Richard Smith has decided to resign from his position as Head Coach. Richard has been with us for 5 years and has successfully coached swimmers throughout all levels and during his time with us he had 3 National Swimmers. In November last year Richard became Head Coach along with Sergio and together they have moved the club forward. Whilst Richard will not be taking a squad of his own from November he has offered to cover where necessary. We would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication to the club during this time and wish him every success in the future.

Recruitment is underway to find a replacement L2/3 coach. If you have any questions please speak to Karen or another member of the committee.

Richard has written the following:

This is to advise members that I have recently made the difficult decision
to resign from my position at Orpington Ojays. I will continue with my role
up until the 31st October.

I have been part of Orpington Ojays for the past five years. During this
time the club has had success with swimmers representing the club at
National, Regional and County level as well as many other open and team
galas. In addition it has been a great pleasure to have worked with many of
the younger swimmers at the club as they progress through the competitive
squads and on to success at a junior level.

This would not have been possible without the dedication of all the coaches
that I have worked with at the club, so a big thank you to you all.

Finally I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and assisted the
club over the last 5 years and wish you and the club success for the future.

Best regards
